Direct Commercial Celebrates Golden Jubilee in Style (4th June 2002)

Brigg
based Direct Commercial Vehicle Services signed a new dealership contract
with Daewoo Avia trucks during the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show at
the beginning of May, and placed an order on the stand for one of the
show’s star attractions – a D75 chassis cab. This is no ordinary truck
however – it is one of a limited number of Gold Edition D-Line chassis
being built by Daewoo Avia in celebration of the Queen’s 50th
jubilee.
Direct’s
management team, headed by Managing Director, Sylvia Wainwright, took one
look at the truck and decided to reserve it quickly as their new
demonstrator. Sylvia said, “It really was a great opportunity to launch
our new dealership with a bang. The D75 Gold Edition is fully equipped and
apart from the usual full equipment, the truck is also equipped with
air-conditioning, and of course a very tasteful gold paint job.”
The
new D75 Gold Edition demonstrator entered service directly after the
jubilee celebrations were over, and Sylvia Wainwright has a long list of
potential customers who wish to test drive the vehicle. “We’ve decided
to personally demonstrate the truck to anyone who contacts us for a
quotation – it’s the best way to really explain the many benefits this
truck has,” she explained.
