Three Rivers Council - Back "In House" with Daewoo Avia (19th April 2002)
Three
Rivers District Council, based in Rickmansworth, Herts, is saving money in
its Refuse Collection and Street Cleansing services by moving them back
in-house. This follows a seven year period of operation under a private
sector contractor.
Two
Daewoo Avia D-Line truck chassis form part of the new in-house fleet – a
3.4m wheelbase D75 equipped with a refuse body and side bin lift by from
bodybuilders W Thomas (Dudley),
and a compact caged tipper – also from W Thomas, on a 2.95m wheelbase
D75 chassis.
The tender was won by local Daewoo Avia dealer Shire Trucks of Milton Keynes.
